- Delegate
This is our number one tip. Find someone who knows your industry in and out. Someone who knows the mission and your core values, and then have them blog for you. If you want more control or don’t want to hire out, consider writing a quick draft and then let your marketing team elaborate on it.
- Write about what you know
If you are CEO, you most likely had to work your way up to that position. Throughout the time of working to that position, you probably learned the ins and outs of your industry. It may seem like common knowledge to you at this point, but it definitely isn’t for everyone and some people could gain very valuable information by what you have to offer.
- Answer the main questions
Instead of going into the tiny details of your industry, address overarching issues. You may notice that the majority of our blogs and videos are about leadership, passion, time management, and creating a good work environment. This is what we feel our customers and readers are most interested in, even if the majority are real estate CEO’s, they generally aren’t looking for more real estate knowledge.
- Use your title to your benefit
One of the most difficult things when starting a blog is getting followers. You have a great PR advantage over most bloggers, you are a CEO. By writing a letter to an editor or contacting a journalist and offering an interview, you will gain traction and publicity for your blog.
- Use everyday conversations to create blog posts
You can gain a lot of insight by simply talking to your employees. Don’t waste your good conversation by keeping it private. Write about the advice you gave and then publish it. There are probably multiple people who would benefit from this advice, not just the one person you initially talked to.
